Botox mechanism: On entering the nerve terminal, the HC binds to presynaptic membrane and is introduced into the nerve terminal via endocytosis. Here, the HC and LC are cleaved, and the LC binds to SNAP-25, one of the SNARE proteins, and inhibits the vesicular release of Ach at the nerve terminal.
